Virgin River

I took Friday off, I just couldn't answer the phone at work one more day.  Early in the morning I took Tiah over to the river to walk.  The area in these pictures are called the Skim Board Park.  Usually the water level is so low that kids play here all the time and skim board.  Today, there is a lot of water flowing down the river.  The dam was overflowing with a lot of power.  I'm sure it's left over from the storms we had and the flash floods by the looks of the amount of mud in the water. The power of the water kinda scared me, and I kept Tiah on her leash for fear she would venture out into the water and get washed down the river. The flowers blooming right now are a sure sign that fall has come to our area.  The nights have been cold and the mornings colder.  The days still get warm but it cools off quickly now, which is a great relief to me.

we're still in mid-90s here for the next week. i'm looking forward to some cooler temps and rain, too. yes, those do look like flood waters, though.

You were smart to keep Tiah on a leash! Way better to be cautious than sorry! I LOVE the cooler nights. So much nicer for sleeping!

We are starting to get some of the cool weather at night...kind of on the warm side most days but I know that will eventually come to an end and we will miss the warmth!

I don't blame you for keeping Tiah on a leash...that water looks powerful!

You are so lucky to have some flowing water. Everything here in California is so dry.

Yes, that does look like flood water and you were wise to keep Tiah on a leash and not risk her getting swept away. You got some great shots on your walk!

Lovely shots and so glad that you got out and had a day off to recoup! We all need that at times
