Sometimes I have the hardest time seeing the glass half full. I try and try and try, and I just can't get my spirit to feel it. Other times, my glass is half full or overflowing. I had a doctor tell me once, "it's ok to feel good". In other words, I don't need to feel guilty if I feel good one day, or my life is actually going alright at the moment. Isn't that crazy? Feeling bad because everything is ok. Am I really more comfortable if everything is nuts? Nah, I'm not that crazy, but I gotta say sometimes I wonder!
Sometimes when I see quotes like the one above I just want to barf, but the truth is, it's true! There is always something to be thankful for, you may have to dig for it, but it's there nonetheless. So here is my list of thank you's for my week....- I'm grateful that Tiah is better and driving me crazy again. That means she feeling healthy again.
- I'm grateful for those awful shots I got in my feet this week. Oh yeah, that was fun, but they don't hurt so much now.
- I'm grateful I can walk, there are those that don't have that option.
- I'm grateful for the food on my table this week.
- I'm grateful for the gas in my car.
- I'm grateful for air conditioning - even though I pay through the nose for it.
- I'm grateful for my dentist and the work he did in my mouth this week, even though my mouth hurts like hell.
- I'm grateful for my children, grandchildren, parents, brother and sisters
- I'm so, so grateful for my home, even though the grass is dying and the plants have had enough heat to last through the winter.

I try to be a glass half full person... and it works a lot of the time. But these last few weeks everything has got to me more than usual and I'm definitely a glass half empty person at the moment.
Thanks for your post coming up in my feed... it was rather timely :)
amen, sister friend. i am glad to hear both you and tiah are doing better!
I hear what you're saying. And I'm grateful for most of the things you listed, too. Except for the shots and dentist work which I haven't had recently. Hope you and Tiah stay well and have a wonderful weekend!
There truly is much to be thankful for and how it lightens the heart to remember it.
{I'm one of those who can't walk and I'm doubly appreciative that you recognized what a gift that is}
We just might be two peas in a pod...I do tell myself I am so lucky...but sometimes it is hard to really feel it. Other times, I feel guilty and wonder why we are the ones so blessed.
The other night on the news, it showed where in Syria a village of no importance had been bombed...and showed this little baby/toddler just screaming in pain...I can still get teary eyed. To think that some people never know what it is to go to bed relatively safe...and thinking but for the grace of God that could have been our Lorelei.
i adore your honesty, it isn't always easy but it's always worth it!!
Glad to hear you tell it like it is, girlfriend! I'm glad you and Tiah are both improving. I hope you keeo it up!
Hi Susan big hug from Drew XX
Hi Susan...
what a great, heart-felt, and honest post.
None of us can always see the glass half full.... we're not perfect.
But, striving to see the glass half full... is what we work on.. day by day.
I'm glad that you are feeling better, as is Tiah.
You guys take care of each other.

p.s. I consider you a blessing in my life. You always have such great posts, and you have a heart of gold :)
Oh Susan your human! You count your blessings and I agree with the previous comment you have a heart of gold comes across in all your posts.
I'm glad your feeling better though that helps!
Have a lovely week,
Hugs Rosemary...xoxo
It's so wonderful to be able to look at all the small things we need to be grateful for. Excellent post!

Glad to know you are walking with out so much pain.. As I see it -- just writing down what you are thankful for keeps the cup filled.. even with the simple everyday day stuff.. God hears you.. and knows your heart!
Hugs..
I like it that you are so honest, Susan. Being a Pollyanna is not my style, although I do TRY to see the brighter side of MOST situations. It's not always that easy. :)
