Our aiport....

When I got to work, I heard from our Facilities Manager that a Skywest pilot had broke into our airport, got a plane and tried to crash through the airport building.  Instead he clipped a wing and took out some of the airport building and ended up in the parking lot, where he proceeded to  blow his head off.  All I could think was HOLY COW, that poor man, how disturbed and distraught he must've been.  Then I heard that he had murdered his girlfriend before he did what he did.  THEN, I'm looking at the news, and there it is on NBC.  Whew!  I knew the FBI and other law enforcement were out there, but I had no idea we made the news.  The custodian in charge of keeping the airport clean and in working order was walking through our building as usual, and he stopped to talk to me.  He said that the whole thing made him think.  He said, "you know, you think you have problems till you see something like this, then you realize your problems aren't so bad."  He was clearly shaken by the whole thing.  So was our Facilities Manager.  He usually teases me all day, unmercifully by the way, but today he was grouchy and hard to find.  It was a tough day.
