A few more pictures....

 I love this reflection picture.
Statue of a handcart.  Some of the Mormon pioneers came across the country to the Salt Lake Basin by pushing and pulling handcarts.  All of their meager belongings in one little cart.  My great, great, grandmother came across the plains with the Willie, Martin handcart party.  She was the only member of her family to make it to Salt Lake City alive.  She was just a young girl.
It has been getting cooler and cooler here in southwest Utah.  Trees should start changing soon.  Right now it still kinda looks like summer.  Today it didn't get above 60 degrees.  For us that is cool.  They expect it to get cold enough at night to freeze.  I'll believe when I see it.
In the desert the temperatures at night can plummet quickly.  It may be cool during the day but freeze easily at night.
Hope all of you are well.
Hopefully I'll get out and get some pictures again soon.

I love that first photo, too. It's a perfect reflection! And the hand carts...I can't fathom pulling or pushing one across the country. The pioneers were brave souls. It's sad that your great, great grandmother was the only survivor of her family of that long journey.

I really love that first shot, too. I read a lot of diaries and journals of people that went by wagon train to the west and just don't see how the women made it. Having babies along the way...losing family members along the way. I think they were stronger than I am.

Love your new blog look Susan. Isn't it fun to be able to look back on your posts like this?? What an amazing thing for your grandmother to have come to Salt Lake city like that. Something i had never heard of before pulling those carts. Great reflection on the first shot too!
