Nova Scotia...

Is it really only another week  and a half till Christmas?  Yikes!  I've gotten a few presents, but I'm so behind.  Oh well, somehow I'll catch up.

I've had this facination with Nova Scotia now for quite awhile.  I don't talk about it much because as badly as I want to go there, and even buy a home there, I'm kinda superstitous about talking about something I want.  Seems the minute I do, it's disappears before my very eyes.

I have been studying this part of Canada, reading everything I can, looking at every picture I can find and discovering more and more.  Not only is it absolutely beautiful, it has a facinating history.  I happen to be reading a book by Steve Berry called The Jefferson Key.  He is a great writer, he combines history with fiction and he always gets my attention.  Anyway, the story has ended up on Oak Island in Nova Scotia, which I didn't expect.  (there always seems to be something I come across that points to Nova Scotia) There is a legend that there are riches buried there.  I looked it up on the internet, and found a show on the History Channel called the Curse of Oak Island.    So since I didn't know anything about it before, I decided to watch it on the internet when I got a chance.  Then I turn on the TV this morning and just happen to pass the History Channel and there it is, re-runs of the show.  I've been watching it this morning, since it's raining outside, and I don't feel like going anywhere.  So interesting.   Spanish gold?  The Knights Templar?  The pirate Black Beard, many privateers, have been rumored to have left treasure on this island.  I have been very interested in the area of Lunenburg and Chester, and the Mahone Bay.  But as I study the area, I am finding many more areas that I would love to take the time to explore.  Just me and my dog.  I want to watch the tides go in and out, I want to wander the beaches, the woods and all the many trails they have.  Boy oh boy I better get my ass in shape if I'm gonna do that.  I want to become what we all call here a St. George Snow Bird.  Summers in Nova Scotia and winters in St. George.  Dreamin' on a rainy afternoon........

My grandmother went on a group tour to Nova Scotia. She was in her 80's at the time and loved it!
