Loverly, loverly....

Oh what a evening.  Beautiful!  I've been at a school choir concert in which two of my grandsons sing in. The choir is huge.  Why?  Because their choir teachers have changed up the plan.  They have the children sing songs that are modern and fun to sing. They do dancing while they sing and they have a ball!  They are awesome! It only goes to show that when teachers go the extra mile, the children will respond in kind to do the best they can.  Everytime I go to one of their concerts, tears fill my eyes and I am overcome with wonderful feelings for all the children and their effort to make their choir the best it can be.  They are not only learning to work together, but they are having a ball doing it.  Then on my way home, I was overcome by how beautiful this evening is.  The colors of the mountains, the color of the sky, the greens of the grasses so vibrant.  I loved it as I drove by fields with cows and horses grazing.  The horses tails flicking away unwanted bug visitors.  I love the age of the fences and areas around here. I glimpsed field sprinklers watering the fields, water shining in the setting sun.  Boy I wish I had my camera at that moment.  It would have been an awesome picture. And all of it is from pioneers who founded this area, living in the heat and cold like the hardy people they were.  How those pioneer women lived in this area in long skirts and petty coats during the awful heat we get at times is beyond me, but I am grateful for them, because I now have a beautiful place to live.  I love the peace around here.  I love living on the outskirts of the population in this area, with only empty beautiful desert to look at and explore.  I heard we even had a bigfoot sighting coming up from the river and crossing our highway.  Wish could get a picture of that!  Now if only my stomach flu would go away, I would feel a lot better!  :)

The choir sounds like a blast. I can only imagine your pride in those kiddos. Your area is gorgeous; I always love your photo captures.
Big foot? Hey, I though he lived here in the everglades?? Maybe he was on vacation in your neck of the woods?
Feel better!

Oh, what a happy day to get to see the grands singing and all that loveliness to see on the way home! It doesn't get any better than that.
Enjoy your weekend and I hope that flu bug goes bye-bye soon!

That's terrific when schools update their songs and make it fun for the kids. Which makes it more fun for parents and grandparents! :)
Hope you are feeling better by now Susan!

Hope this last day of April finds you feeling good again. I enjoyed the writing you shared and the colors in the photo. It is still pretty dreary here.

I always wonder how women made it in the long dresses and all that goes with them. And I also wonder did they wear all the petticoats all the time or did they leave them off when at home. In winter, they would have been added warmth, I suppose.
