None of these photos are mine. These two were taken by a friend of mine, Marty Lane. Aren't the clouds awesome above his home?
The Virgin River flooding. The water rushes down from Zion National Park and gets bigger and bigger. This is an area where kids usually skim board, not to far from my office.
The road I drive all the time. To work, from work, to City Hall to do business. As I was driving home yesterday afternoon I felt trepidation at the dark clouds I could see close to my home. It poured and poured, and I'm talking major rain. It rained all night. And it's still raining this morning. It worries me because of bad floods we've had in the past. The desert is just not made for large amounts of rain. When it does, every wash, stream, and river turn into deadly things. The advice around here is "turn around, don't drown", oh and climb up and away from the washes.
