Beautiful long, long hike.......

I'm always amazed when I look down on this dry river bed, that is only full of water during heavy rain falls.
You can see where the water falls down off of the rocks above and makes a huge pool, which is very small right now.
 The cottonwood thrive down there.
From all the rain we've had has produced amazing wild flowers.  There will be more pictures of those another day.
I saw purple and white flowers on the same plants.

I'm always amazed by the rock formations from years and years of wind and water.

It was a beautiful day.  I enjoyed the hike until the last few steps.  I barely, and I mean this in the most awful way, I barely made it back to my car.  Also, Tiah was dragging her tail too.  Never do that again.

I love rock out crops. I wish ours were red! They are pretty in their own way with the lichens and such. Glad you guys made it back! Love long walks. Usually on my pony though! :)
