Gate to the secret garden....

Holy crap on a cracker it's been hot!  I live only 2 hours from Las Vegas, and we are higher than they are, so our temps are usually at least 2 or 3 degrees cooler, but I still think 117 degrees is to dang hot!  At 8:00 p.m. tonight it was still 109.  To hot to go out of the house for sure.  Every time I go out I high tail it back into the house and air conditioning.  Tiah just parks herself on the cool tile and stays there.  Squeek doesn't want to come inside.  So I put a big pan of cold water outside for her and any other animal that needs water.  Star has gone missing.  She's been gone for 2 days now.  It worries me, especially with these temps.  I keep calling her, hoping she'll come home if she can.  I'll check the animal shelter on Monday if she doesn't wander in by then.

That is a cool gate! Love the rocks over the top. Is that your yard? Beautiful.
This heat sucks! Stay cool.
How nice of you to put water out for the critters. I hope your kitty comes home safe and sound.

It sounds awful and miserable. I like summer, but I hate it when it gets so hot. Luckily we are not dealing with high temps right now. Last summer we roasted and I hated every single day of it. I always worry about the animals. I hope you have success finding your missing Star.

Oh I do hope Star is home soon and just found a nice cool place to hangout. Those are very hot temps I have no idea how you could do anything in that. I LOVE the gate I would love to go through that. Take care and stay hydrated. Hug B

You live in a beautiful place; I've often wondered how one breathes though in that heat. I live in FL but it doesn't get as hot as that. I hope Star finds her way home.

Your blog is beautiful. :)

Oh my goodness I hope you find Star! Man oh man I can't imagine how hot you all must be out there. I think 90 is hot here! I suppose I should never complain about 90 degree weather again lol.

Love this photo, Susan. We have been hearing about the extreme temperatures in the Southwest! I'm glad you have found a cooler spot to hide from it!
