The Marines and the Navy invaded our little towns yesterday. Last night I laid down ready to fall asleep. All of a sudden a low flying aircraft went over the house. Then another and another, circling around our area. Sounded like F-18's, and probably were, but I could hear many, many helicopters as well. Sigh, why do they always have to train over our desert. I'm gonna quote from our newspaper. "13th Marine Expeditionary Unit turned Washington County into a training ground overnight launching a raid out of the St. George Municipal Airport and taking out a simulated terrorist training camp within the Shivwits Band Indian Reservation"
Guess who lives right by the Indian Reservation.
On the left, this is a MV-22B Osprey
My son Aaron was a Marine. He says once a Marine, always a Marine. Anyway he was stationed back east for quite awhile and was deployed to the Iraq War. He worked on these helicopters, frames only. He said that when these guys would come in with bullet holes, they would buy a coke, drink it and weld the cans over the bullet holes and then the helicopter would take off again. He had some really interesting and hard experiences while he was over there.

And this on the right is the dependable good ole UH-1Y Huey. Indispensable during the Vietnam War.
