Kinda hard to believe I'm in the middle of the desert with areas like these. Trees are a precious commodity here in the desert. What I'm always amazed by is how quickly people will cut down a tree to expand a parking lot, or because it makes a mess.
The entrance to the Conservation Garden.
Definitely gonna look for this plant. Desert native and does well under hot and dry conditions.
And it's pretty too!

Gorgeous flowers Susan! I can see that you are having fun with your new camera!
Thanks for sharing your awesome photos from this trip.
These are some great trees, too good for being in the middle of a desert.
I too am guilty of thinking about cutting trees that cause 'inconvenience', but looks like either my attitude towards trees or my definition of the term need to change.
It's always sad when a tree gets cut down in Southwest Saskatchewan too. There's so few of them!
Those flowers are so pretty!

The blossoms are gorgeous, Susan. Pretty blossoms do so mush to cheer your spirit, don't you think?
Wow look at all the amazing color in these pics!! I want to go here.
So much fun to see pretty blossoms already.
Yeah, it's amazing how many people exhibit no brains whatsoever when it comes to cutting down trees. Yes, I'm a treehugger and proud of it. After all, they do provide the very oxygen we breathe. Now, down off my soapbox for the day. Lovely garden.
