Old Alice...

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting many blogs, I have been in bad shape and haven't even looked at my computer.  I don't really know what's been going on in my body, but the pain has been bad.  I've been so tired, and the stress at work has been really hard.  The other secretary has now left, and I'm alone.  I was told by Human Resources that since my job has been lowered to Secretary, that I work only for the Parks Division.  Before as Administrative Secretary I did work for two other divisions, as well as, Parks.  BUT, Friday I called into my bosses office to meet with him and the Park Planning manger.  She proceeded to list off all the things she expects me to do.  I looked at her and told her that I am the Parks secretary and I was not to do work for her.  Both managers bristled.  I told them that I had talked with HR and was told that I do not work for anyone but Parks.  I didn't want on my evaluation that I wasn't being cooperative.  So it will be interesting to see if HR backs me up or throws me down a hell hole.  Between the upsets at work, being sad to see people that I really care about being laid off and leaving, and the pain I feel constantly, well to say I've had enough is an understatement.  I've cried more this week than I have in a year.  I find tears rolling down my cheeks constantly.  I have prayed for strength and understanding and I have to say that the Lord has helped me immensely.  I'm still alive.

sometimes, when everything seems like it's falling apart, things are really falling together. maybe!!

i sincerly hope you find help managing your pain. living in pain, every single day, is so draining and almost impossible to do.

i am sending you strength, my best wishes and a big, warm hug from the jersey shore!!

i truly hope that HR has the balls to stand behind you and what they told you. and if it needs to be changed, then agree to it, but admit you were told to not work for the other depts.

i'm sorry you're still in pain. emotional pain is bad enough. physical pain, too, is too much stress at once.

Dear Susan: Get HR to put it in writing. NOW!

I wish I could make the pain go away, my friend. I really do. I am sending you healing thoughts and prayers.

It is the first time I have landed on your blog, and gotta say, looks like you are not in the best of spirits right now because of work.

Let us hope things will get sorted soon. God bless.

I wish I had words of wisdom here... I'm thinking it's always darkest before the dawn.. hoping things look up for you real soon. Best thing to do right now is take good care of yourself, eat right, exercise, do what you must at work and things might not be as bad as they feel right now.

I'm sure the stressful situation isn't helping your pain at all. It's difficult to see people you care for lose their jobs.

I agree with Jill that you need to ask HR to put it in writing that you now only work for Parks. If they gave you wrong information, then willingly do what the other departments ask you to do.

All the best, Susan!

I'm sorry you are in pain and going through this stressful time at work, Susan. Stress can cause a lot of problems. I'm praying that you will soon have better days at work and that you'll feel better quickly, too. Take care and give Tiah a hug!

So much stress at work is even harder to take when you are not feeling well. It seems like there are cut backs everywhere. Do more with less. Unfortunately, it seems to be at the expense of the workers. This working for a living sucks...

Hope you get feeling better and that things start to go better at work. Chin up my friend!

Hang in there Susan. Work can really be tough at times... expecially when you have so much change going on. I totally get it. Focus on home and your personal life.

I'm sorry to hear you so distraught Susan. I totally understand about that job. I've had a little stress in that dept lately too. It's so difficult sometime to watch the changes take place in our employment (I'm going thru it too) and wonder how much longer you'll have that job and even then hoping it doesn't turn sour. I wonder if I can keep up with the changes. don't know about you but I feel too old too be comfortable changing jobs. I hope you can hang in there and it gets better. Hope you feel better with that pain.

Oh, Susan, I am so sorry you are going through this. I even wonder if the stress at work is causing some of the body pains.
