Rain.....

Yesterday on my way home from work, there were menacing clouds coming in, but by about 7:00 pm they looked like they had gone on their way.  BUT, about 9:30 I started hearing thunder, so I went outside to look and yes we had some distant lightening and thunder.  Fast forward to 1:00 a.m. this morning and crash, I woke up with a start along with Tiah and Star who were snoozing also on my bed.  The house lit up and thunder crashed right after it.  This went on without any pause for hours along with pouring rain.  When I woke up at 6:00 this morning it was still pouring.  It poured for a few more hours then let up.  On my way home from work, it started pouring again.  Is this the desert or the tropics?  Good grief!  Now I'm not trashing the rain, we need it just like everyone else, but this has been a rain storm of epic proportions (ok, a slight exaggeration) but it's a lot of rain for the desert.  We tend to get flash floods and good stuff like that when it rains like this.  I passed a area of land that is usually dry on my way home.  It looks like a lake.  Talk about mosquitoes, we'll be fighting them that's for sure unless everything dries up quick.  Right now it's still raining and it's the next night!  I'll let ya'll know if I'm gonna need diving equipment anytime soon.  I mean I have to get to work somehow!

Sorry about the mosquitoes! Nice photo of the lightning! You must be quick on the trigger. I have NEVER been fast enough to capture lightning.

Yikes, Susan! Be careful on your swim to work this morning & hope everything turns out ok... send some to us, we haven't had rain, now, in a while & it's getting very dry again... BE CAREFUL of the mosquitoes, cuz you don't want that West Nile virus!!!

We need some rain here. Always strikes me how one place gets over saturated and others so dry. Be SAFE!!

monsoon season here in Az.. and I think you got our storm we had come in around 2:00am with a lot of lightening and thundering and then the rain hit hard around 3:30am.. The lightening was so noisy and the flashing from the lightening was awful -- no more sleep for this lady-O.. And Az always gets those flash floods too wink.. Looks like we had a restless and early morning wake-up call!
Grateful for the water - yes, indeed!!!!

We are sure hoping to get some rain from the hurricane...but too much at one time is not always good. But it is better than nothing.
