HAPPY 4th of July to all you out there! I'm staying home tonight, I am just to tired to spend my time setting off fireworks with the kids or going to see the fireworks in town. BUT, my real reason is that I DO NOT agree with setting off fireworks this season. To many fires, so much loss, and so many who've had to leave their homes because some dumb human started a fire. I agree we should celebrate 4th of July, but there are other ways. Anyway, my prayers are with those that have suffered because of fires, and I have to admit I am thinking a lot of Feral Woman who barely escaped with their lives from a wild fire. I hope and pray that all will be okay for her and her husband and the various animals they have. Also, I would love to wish Theresa at TexWisGirl a very, very Happy Birthday!!!!!!

oh, sweet susan. thank you!
i sobbed for a while this afternoon after i read feral's post. it is my biggest fear. i don't know how she'll ever forget that.
Have a good 4th!
Hope you enjoyed your 4th friend!
Hi Susan,
Happy 4th.
I agree. I don't think that any fireworks should be permitted when it is so dry. I don't know how long it has been since we had rain.
We are praying for rain for the entire country. And praying also for those who are suffering from the fires and the power being out. It is so horrible for them.
Stay safe and cool. Take care. Janet W ((hugs))
I admit I was stunned that so many fireworks were still set off. With the heat and wildfires it does boggle the mind.
Most fireworks were cancelled around here and I was glad of it; I was surprised that there wasn't a lot of individuals setting them off, but there wasn't.
ooohhhh i could not agree more!!
i read feral womans blog yesterday for the first time, i was horrified!! how do you recover from that!!
i never left the house yesterday & no one called, i'm not sure why!!
so much loss in so many areas ... enjoyed the day without any fireworks!
I think the burn ban in my state now covers all but just a couple of counties- it is bad, bad, bad...another drought season like last year.
Praying hard for all those out west who are suffering from the fires.
I agree it just takes one spark to cause so much damage
