Another deluge today....

When I was home, I could hear thunder outside.  Lots of it.  I thought I better go to the gas station and get me my Diet Coke before the rain starts.  So I put Tiah in the car with me and off we went around the block.

Just as I got there, the rain started.  HUGE drops.  The few feet I had to the door had me soaked.  When I got in there, there was a couple of cops looking at candy and taking a break.  Another officer drove up, but wouldn't get out of his car.  It was pouring!  I said to the officers that I thought you guys were supposed to be brave and he's scared of the rain?  Or is he afraid he'll melt.  He laughed and said it's more like he's afraid he'll melt.  They were cute guys, and so darn young.  I finally ran back to the car, told Tiah she couldn't drive and move over and was soaked before I could get the door closed.  I then was driving down the street and saw 2 bolts of lightening hit the desert floor and a crack of thunder right on top of us.  Sheesh!  Good thing the desert was soaked.  I think Tiah was more worried about the windshield wipers than the thunder.

wow, love the views. around here when a state officer or sheriff deputy gets out of the car in the rain they have like a little plastic hood or cap to go over their hats & a raincoat. they make me laugh but i guess they work. we had a great rain storm last night. with thunder too. i wonder how much rain we got? wishing for more, please. (:

Awesome sky! Like Beth, I have seen those little rain caps for the sheriff's hats! Does Tiah get a treat from the store??

Hi Susan...
Wow! Sounds like quite a thunder-buster/gully washer.
It looked like it was going to rain here yesterday..but not one drop fell.
I think the folks just over in Fountain Green were praying harder for no rain... as they have had some flooding.

Have a good one.

Lovely pictures...we have been getting some downpours here in Phoenix as well and some dust storms (which I am starting to STRONGLY dislike). You are a kindred spirit "diet coke" fan...my husband is more of a "diet coker" than I but there are times when I just have to "have a coke and a smile." Enjoy your day!
