A picture of a Mormon Pioneer handcart company statue.  The Mormons traveled across the plains to the Salt Lake Valley to move away from religious persecution.  My great, great Grandmother traveled across the plains with the Willie Handcart Company.  She was one of 5 children.  Of all the people that died crossing the plains she and her siblings actually made it to Salt Lake City.
