On my way home today, I could see smoke over my way. I thought someone was burning weeds. Then as I got closer, I could tell this wasn't a burning weeds fire. I got kinda panicky thinking it looked awful close to my home. Then when I got home I could tell exactly where it was. Across the state highway out where I hike. Crap, I thought, not the trail. Thank heavens it isn't, it's in a small canyon away from the trail. It took me awhile to go over to take pictures, so all I could see was smoke. The arrow points to the helicopter laying down water on the fire.
Going to the Ivins Reservoir for more water. Kinda looks like a overgrown wasp to me.
Just smokey, I couldn't see any flames. I'm thinking it's almost out.
You can see the burned places, and the fire trucks sitting out there watching to make sure nothing else flames up.

How sad :(
Hope this fire season isn't too bad in your area.
Oh dear, I wish this weren't happening!
Terrible news!
I have never been close to a fire like that...and hope I never am.
Oh that's scary! We had several fires int eh area last year due to drought- our first go round with any that close.
Fire in your nature spot can be very frightening can't it??
